Habits that will empower us to be better.

As suggestions to “the list”, I bring back old habits that have been proven helpful for generations before us. Let’s not waste time and energy reinventing the wheel.

Movement – yes, we all know stagnation facilitates the occurrence of diseases and we keep on trying not to think about it. So instead, incorporate ANY TYPE of movement to your day. Walking is just perfect. For those working at a computer, get up and stretch every half hour or so, just enough to break the patterns created in the body for being in a single position too long.

Breathing – pay attention to the way you are breathing. Do not worry at this point if you it is diaphragmatic or not. Inhale expanding both your abdomen and chest. And here slow is better. Pay attention to the changes in your body.

Posture – yes, here I go again. Pay attention to the way you position your body to whatever activity you spend most of your day on, and how your core (abdominal muscles) is engaged, either sitting or standing and how it relates to your spine.

Meditation, prayer or any activity you choose that will bring you to that space inside that knows everything. We need to tap into that more often. So, again, start small, maybe just breathing with a positive affirmation and increase time slowly. You will notice the benefits.

I could go on for another page or two with examples like stretching often and watch what you eat. Instead I ask you to pay attention to the messages from your body. They will tell you what you need to do.

And, yes, don’t forget to get a massage regularly
